The Scientific Council of the Doha Historical Dictionary of Arabic will hold its nineteenth meeting on Tuesday, 31 January and Wednesday, 1 February 2023 in Doha.
The agenda for the first day includes approving the minutes of the 18th meeting's deliberations and presenting the Executive Board's report on the progress of work in the dictionary, which is presented by the Executive Director of the Doha Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language, Dr Azeddine Bouchikhi.
Over the course of two days, the Council will discuss the submitted reports and important scientific and methodological issues, such as new proposals related to compound terms, daily life vocabulary between colloquial and MSA, and borrowed words. The Council will also discuss the bibliography for the twentieth century and other recommendations.
